Servers developed using licensed versions of the OPC A&E Server Toolkit can be distributed royalty free. Please refer to the reference manual (available in the demo) for a list of DLLs that can be distributed.

The OPC A&E Server toolkit can be licensed in two formats, per developer seat or per development site.

Per Developer Seat. The toolkit is licensed on a per developer seat (or development machine) basis. Each developer seat that has the toolkit installed, and is using the licensed information supplied with the toolkit, must have a license. Includes toolkit binary DLL and Tracehook binary DLL. 

Per Development Site (source code version). The toolkit is licensed on a per development site (or unique physical address) basis. An unlimited number of developers can use the toolkit and the licensed information supplied with the toolkit. Includes toolkit binary DLL, toolkit source code, and TraceHook binary DLL.

Each new license includes 30 days of free, unlimited technical support. Purchase a support contract to extend your support period to one (1) year. Support contracts are renewable and can be purchased for any version of the toolkit.

Minor updates (2.0.x) which include bug fixes or minor enhancements are free. Major upgrades (2.x) which include new product features and major enhancements to existing features are available for an upgrade charge.
